House Speaker Jason White discussed the upcoming conference with optimism, highlighting three key issues: expansion, education , and the PERS retirement system. Speaker White emphasized the House's firm stance on expanding Medicaid to 138% of the federal poverty level, which would benefit around 200,000 . The Senate's plan, on the other hand, would only those making up to 99% of the federal poverty level, which would likely impact about 40,000 Mississippians. The House and Senate plan to meet for public negotiations tomorrow to reach a resolution.
