Hinds County Hack Problem
SUMMARY: The Hinds County tax collector, Eddie Fair, announced on Facebook that the county's system was hacked, causing a complete shutdown for the entire county. This has affected not only the tax collector's office, but all county offices in Raymond and Jackson. As a result, residents are unable to buy or renew car tags, and the purchase and sale of businesses in Hinds County are also on hold. The district attorney's office is now filing hardcopies of paperwork instead of electronically. Fair also reminded residents that they cannot purchase new or renewal tags during this time.
