Harrison County welcomes new leaders with new year
SUMMARY: Nearly 50 people, including judges, clerks, staff members, and officials, were sworn into office at the packed Harrison County Courthouse. Among them was Angela Thrash, the first female to serve as Chancery Clerk. Also, former Sheriff Troy Peterson was succeeded by Matt Haley who took the oath and will focus on the safety and security of the citizens of Harrison County. The event ended right before the Board of Supervisors meeting began, where around 45 newly sworn individuals were present.
A packed Harrison County Courthouse first floor greeted the numerous judges, clerks, staff members, and officials who were sworn into office today.

Temperatures will remain above seasonal norms, reaching a high of 84 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Winds will be gusty, and the potential for severe weather is being monitored.
