Former Stone County circuit clerk to spend 5 years behind bars for fraud
SUMMARY: Former Stone County circuit clerk Jeffrey O'Neal has been sentenced to spend five years in prison for fraud. An investigation by the State Auditor's Office revealed that O'Neal failed to complete his official tasks and did not remit over $25,000 in fees to the county. He additionally withheld more than $36,000 in restitution payments meant for crime victims. O'Neal, who had stashed $86,000 in personal bank accounts post-election, was also ordered to pay $94,351.96 in restitution following his imprisonment and will undergo five years of post-release supervision.

Mississippi congressman accused of assaulting Palestine supporter at Capitol

Gulfport man sentenced to life after killing another man in drunken rage
