Double homicide on West Capitol street being investigated
SUMMARY: Two men were killed in a shooting outside a Food Mart on West Capitol, with one victim identified as Glen Stevens. The police are still working to identify the second victim in what appears to be a drive-by shooting between two vehicles. The incident occurred after 6 PM and police are still searching for suspects. Witnesses in the area believe the victims were innocent bystanders caught up in the crossfire. The scene was cleared after 9 PM and the investigation is ongoing. If anyone has information on the suspects behind the double homicide, they are urged to contact the police.

SUMMARY: Two new art exhibits are now open at Hattisburg Sanger theater. The first exhibit features a collection of painted violins called “First and Second” inside the theater, with two dozen instruments showcasing the work of different artists with a roaring 20s theme. The exhibit serves as a prelude to this year's Festival South. The second exhibit, “Say Cheese”, at the pocket Museum, focuses on photography with photographs from around the world and classic cameras on display. Both exhibits will be open through the end of the month, offering a variety of artistic inspiration for visitors to enjoy.

SUMMARY: The weather is beautiful with temperatures in the 80s across the region. Severe weather is happening in West Texas with tornadoes reported, but it won't impact the area. Temperatures will fall to the 70s in the evening with no expected problems. Clouds will increase throughout the day tomorrow with a chance of pop-up showers in the evening. Rain chances will increase on Friday but the weekend should mostly stay dry with a small chance of showers. Humidity will increase over the weekend and temperatures will rise into the 90s next week. Updates on renovations at Green Coliseum are expected soon.
