Brandon 14-year-old arrested for murder of mother, attempted murder of stepfather
SUMMARY: A 14-year-old girl from Rankin County was arrested for the murder of her mother and the attempted murder of her stepfather. The incident occurred in the Farmington Station subdivision of Brandon. Deputies responded to a shooting at approximately 5:07 p.m., where they found the stepfather with a shoulder gunshot wound. He directed them to his deceased wife and told them his daughter had shot at him before fleeing the scene. Law enforcement, with help from the Mississippi Highway Patrol and its helicopter, apprehended the teenage suspect without further incident around 5:35 p.m. This is an ongoing investigation with more details to come.

Leopold Conservation Award comes to Mississippi

Former high school financial secretary pleads guilty to embezzlement
SUMMARY: Dana Walker, a former financial secretary at H.W. Byers High School in Mississippi, has pleaded guilty to embezzling approximately $39,471.70 in school activity funds. State Auditor Shad White announced Walker's guilty plea following her arrest by the Marshall County School District Police in February 2022. Officials to break ground on Amazon Web Services Monday morning
SUMMARY: Officials will gather in Madison County for a groundbreaking ceremony for Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Monday. AWS is investing over $10 billion into two hyperscale data centers in Mississippi, one at the Madison County Mega Site and another near Tougaloo College. Gov.
