Bracelet fundraiser held for late Vancleave graduate
SUMMARY: An attorney from George County is honoring a former high school wrestler and recent graduate, Justin Bean, who died in a car accident. Justin's classmate, Michaela Crowder, is selling bracelets and collecting donations for Justin's family. Michaela's mother created a design on the bracelet, and Michaela felt the need to do something for her friend who always lit up a room. Michaela will be at the Van Cleve West Harrison football game tonight, selling those bracelets.
At Vancleave High School, a student is honoring former high school wrestler and recent graduate, Justin Bean, who died in a car crash Sunday.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Pearl River Central @ George County (5/11/2024) [6A Playoffs, South State]
SUMMARY: South State series continued with softball playing their final game before the state championships and baseball in the second game of a best-of-three series. HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Hancock @ George County (5/11/2024) [6A Playoffs, South State]
SUMMARY: Two Coast matchups in South State softball games ended with ties to the region. Hancock played against George County, with the winner set to face South Panola in the 6A state championship. The Lady Hawks led 2-1 before Brooklyn Quavis hit a double, followed by Taylor Dunbar contributing another run. Hancock became the 6A South State Champions and will advance to the state championship in Hattisburg next week.

SUMMARY: In the 5A State softball series, East Central Lady Hornets defeated Van Cleave to win the title.
