Bolton-Edwards students receive free laptops
SUMMARY: Students at Bolton-Edwards Elementary-Middle School in Hinds County, Mississippi, received a surprise from Comcast and elected officials as part of an internet expansion announcement. Nearly 400 laptops were given to K-8 students, allowing them to continue their learning outside of the classroom. Governor Tate Reeves and U.S. Congressman Bennie Thompson handed out the laptops and emphasized the importance of bridging the digital divide. This expansion project also provides internet access to thousands of Bolton residents, including Congressman Thompson himself. The long-term goal is to make internet access available to every person in Mississippi.
