Biloxi man rings in new year in jail after hours-long standoff with police

SUMMARY: Joshua Ivan Crawford from Mississippi's Gulf Coast began the new year under arrest after a five-hour standoff with Biloxi Police. The incident began with a domestic dispute at a residence on Woodland Hills Drive. Police arrived to find Crawford, 40, barricaded inside. He surrendered without incident early Monday. Crawford faces charges of aggravated domestic assault, illegal weapon possession as a convicted felon, and possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute. His aggravated domestic assault charge bond was denied, as he was already out on felony bond, but he received a total of $125,000 bond for the other charges before being detained at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
