Audubon Center helps the Least Tern population on the Gulf Coast
SUMMARY: Personnel moves are expected to start up again in the new fiscal year beginning on October 1st. Birdwatchers on the coast are delighted and amazed by the population of least terns, an endangered species, nesting and breeding in the area. Members of the Ottoman Society are closely monitoring the migration and behavior patterns of these birds, as well as tagging some of the chicks. They aim to track where the birds will be going when they fly south for the winter. Overall, there is excitement and dedication to preserving and studying these bird populations.
