American Legion creates party box for veterans
SUMMARY: On Veteran's Day, the American Legion is taking significant steps to aid those who have served and sacrificed for the nation. Ja'Colbi Rivers, from the Ocean Springs American Legion chapter, emphasizes the importance of supporting soldiers and their families. Avery McCullough, a junior member of the Ocean Springs American Legion Post 42, has launched a “Party Box” initiative to provide birthday supplies to veterans' children from low-income families who can't afford parties. Inspired by an idea she found on TikTok, Avery feels that contributing even in small ways, like a birthday cake in a box, makes a difference by showing people care. She aims to rally her community to assist those less fortunate. To support or donate to this cause, visit the Ocean Springs Post.
The American Legion is stepping up to assist those who have served and sacrificed for this country.
