A Black delivery driver loses his FedEx job, more than a year after he said white men attacked him
SUMMARY: A Black FedEx delivery driver in Mississippi, D'Monterrio Gibson, claims he was shot at and chased by two white men in January 2022. However, Gibson has now been fired from his job at FedEx. The company stated that Gibson's termination was due to his refusal to accept a part-time, non-courier job offered to him. Gibson, who has been on worker's compensation leave, is considering legal action against FedEx. A mistrial was recently declared for the father and son charged in the attack, with a detective's testimony highlighting police errors. The incident sparked accusations of racism in the community.
