SUMMARY: Good morning, and welcome to your Weather Authority sponsored by The People's Bank. Today will be warm, humid, and breezy with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The day will be mostly cloudy with some sunshine in the late morning. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at 8 to 10 mph, gusting up to 30 mph. Overnight, temperatures will drop to 69 degrees with winds tapering off. Tomorrow will be similar, with a slight chance of showers on Friday and showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will remain near normal for the next week.

Wiggins firefighter recovering after being pinned beneath fire engine
SUMMARY: Over the weekend, a fire engine flipped in Wiggins, pinning a firefighter underneath. The firefighter, who remains anonymous, was responding to an accident on Highway 26 by Bay Drive and SE Earl Road when the vehicle flipped twice. The firefighter was trapped but was kept safer by wearing a seatbelt. After a chaotic scene with equipment strewn around, the crew used the jaws of life to free the firefighter within ten minutes. Despite some complications, her injuries are not severe. The accident is under investigation by highway patrol. Stone County has replaced the fire department's vehicle to maintain operations.

Two 18-wheelers crash on I-10 W in Moss Point, all lanes blocked

5/20 – Trey Tonnessen's “Dry Period” Monday Night Forecast
SUMMARY: Today's weather was warm and sunny with a gentle breeze, slightly above the average temperatures for this time of year, resembling early summer. Currently, temperatures are in the mid to upper 70s to lower 80s, with noticeable humidity. Overnight temperatures will stay warm. While winds from the south increase humidity levels, dry air in the mid-levels keeps it somewhat balanced. A trough in the American West is causing snow and rainfall elsewhere but will remain calm in our area. The 7-day forecast shows mid to upper 80s temperatures, mostly dry with no rain expected through Memorial Day weekend.
