Aberdeen alderwoman faces charges related to poll worker incident
SUMMARY: Aberdeen alderwoman Lady Garth was arrested and held in jail for alleged incidents of simple assault and disturbance of an election. The charges stem from an incident with an election worker during the city elections on April 2. She must serve five days in jail after being convicted of disturbing the peace in December 2022. Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook stated that the election-related charge must be presented to a grand jury and requires an arraignment. Garth had been evading authorities, but was eventually found at a church service on Sunday, leading to her arrest.
