Victims of “Goon Squad” speak out
SUMMARY: A press conference was held regarding the sentencing of the ‘Goon Squad' members in Rankin County. Community leaders and victims gathered to discuss their hopes for the outcome. Attorneys representing the survivors are seeking the maximum amount of years for the crimes each member pleaded guilty to. The six members of the Goon Squad, including Hunter Elward who shot one victim in the face, pleaded guilty to torturing the victims and making false reports. A petition to remove Sheriff Bryan Bailey from office has gathered over 30,000 signatures, but Bailey claims he had no knowledge of the Goon Squad's actions before they were exposed. Victim Michael Jenkins is hopeful for justice.

Fertile Ground celebrates Two Year Birthday Week
SUMMARY: At Fertile Ground Beer Company, the magic of brewing beer happens in a three vessel brew system where it takes 68 hours to brew one batch. The fermentation tanks turn the wort into beer by adding yeast, which converts it into alcohol. Each tank holds one type of beer at a time, which is kegged or canned before being sold. The water used in brewing is filtered for quality, and the process involves a dedicated team who work early mornings. The company's flagship beer is a pilsner, and they are celebrating their second year in Jackson with new beers and food trucks at an upcoming event.
