Stennis Space Center continues engine certification process for NASA Artemis moon missions
SUMMARY: NASA is advancing its engine certification for the Artemis missions with RS-25 engine tests at Stennis Space Center. The latest full-duration hot fire test, part of a 12-test series for new production engines, occurred at the Fred Haise Test Stand. Data from these tests will help certify the new manufacturing process by Aerojet Rocketdyne. The RS-25 engines are crucial for launching the SLS rocket, which will carry astronauts to the Moon and prepare for Mars missions. The testing team includes NASA, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and Syncom Space Services personnel.
