Jackson police continue years-long fight against owner of decaying Hotel O
SUMMARY: Jackson police are working to hold Noah Muthana, owner of the abandoned Hotel O, accountable for property mismanagement. The hotel, condemned in August 2023, faces numerous code violations, including structural weakness, unsafe electrical wiring, and mold. The decaying building, located off I-55 South in Jackson, partially houses an operating hotel but is mainly a haven for homeless individuals. Despite a judge's order to demolish the property in March 2023, Muthana failed to appear in court, resulting in a warrant for his arrest. The Police Department's Community Engagement Unit recently offered shelter resources to the homeless residing there.
