Attorney General On Crime
SUMMARY: Attorney General Lynn Fitch is urging lawmakers to pass a package of bills to address new areas of crime. These include cracking down on sextortion, gangs, and immigration enforcement. Fitch wants tougher penalties for criminal offenses related to gang violence and those who recruit young people, as well as creating penalties for sextortion. She argues that much of the high crime rates nationwide can be traced back to the lack of border enforcement and the drugs that cross over. Fitch hopes that lawmakers will take action this session to address these issues.
