MDE awards $1.5M to USM for CTE program at Hattiesburg High
SUMMARY: Southern Miss, Mississippi's education department, is awarding over $1.5 million for an apprenticeship program at Hattiesburg High. The program aims to launch a career and technical education program for students in Hattiesburg public schools, with up to 30 students able to learn subjects like math, science, and writing in real-life applications. The goal is to improve students' ACT scores and overall performance. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by 2026.
The grant will be used to launch the program for career and technical education students in the Hattiesburg Public Schools.
