Jackson Veterans Home uses reserve water tanks
SUMMARY: The frigid weather in Jackson, Mississipi has affected the water system in the capital city, forcing residents and some healthcare facilities to take drastic measures to secure clean water. The Jackson Veterans Home, in particular, has been able to maintain stable water supply due to reserve water tanks and fire suppression towers, which are able to hold and distribute water in case of a water emergency. The facility invests roughly $100,000 in these systems, which have proved to be priceless in the event of water shortages. The facility is fortunate to have this system, especially since the area is one of five zip codes put under a boil water notice.
