Hinds County ballot shortage questioned

SUMMARY: The Election Commission is investigating the ballot shortage during the general election. Several precincts, Wildwood Baptist Church in Clinton, ran out of ballots. The Election Commissioner, Ratoya McGee, apologized to voters and stated that they ordered 10% more ballots than required by , but it still wasn't enough. Turnout in Hinds County was lower to four years ago. The Circuit Clerk, Zack Wallace, helped print new ballots when they ran out. County Administrator Kenny Jones blamed the Election Commission for dropping the ball on a critical election. The Mississippi Democratic Party and Mississippi Votes filed lawsuits to extend hours due to the shortage.
