VIDEO: Local businesses looking for seasonal workers

Customer service and holiday-related tasks such as gift wrapping and decorating are among the areas where stores need assistance. The need for extra staffing extends to both small and large businesses, with some larger stores requiring up to 15-20 additional staff members. Many stores offer training for those who are not familiar with retail work, with the main goal being to have the extra staff ready by Black Friday. Some stores have already filled their holiday positions and are decorated in anticipation of the upcoming holiday open house events.

Second games of high school baseball championships continue Thursday
SUMMARY: As the High School baseball season concludes, three local teams are in their championship Game Twos. East Union faces St. Andrews this morning after winning their first game, but are now heading to Game Three on Saturday following a 5-0 loss. East Webster will play West after East Union's game, and Ripley is set for their game against Sumrall shortly thereafter. Jason Williams is in Pearl to cover these games, with live updates on WTV 9 News at 5.

JPS hosts annual Highlight Awards Program
SUMMARY: Jackson Public Schools' Partners in Education hosted their annual Highlight Award Celebration this morning, which was a huge success. WGTV 12 News's adopted school, Key Elementary, was honored for 20 years of partnership with U.S. Silica. The event celebrated the collective achievements of scholars, who thrive with the provided resources and support. The program recognizes businesses, organizations, and individuals partnering with JPS. This year's theme was “Together We Grow: Strong Roots, Changing Seasons.” Held at the Jackson Convention Complex, the event included a breakfast, numerous awards for students, and a performance by Bailey APAC titled “Property Rights.”
