Thousands of Mississippians purged from voter rolls
SUMMARY: The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund has stated that thousands of Mississippians have been purged from the voter rolls ahead of the upcoming statewide elections. Multiple counties in the state have been improperly removing voters without notice, either placing them on an inactive list or completely removing them. Voting special counsel Amir Badat mentioned that they have received reports of various other issues that voters may face, including polling location changes that have occurred with little or no notice. The Mississippi Poor Peoples Campaign plans to prioritize getting people back on the rolls in the next few days.
