Prime suspect admits to Natalee Holloway’s 2005 murder in Aruba, gets plea deal in extortion case
SUMMARY: Joran van der Sloot, the chief suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, has admitted to killing her and disposing of her remains. He has also agreed to plead guilty to attempting to extort money from Holloway's mother years after the teenager's disappearance. Van der Sloot is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence in Peru for killing Stephany Flores in 2010. He will also serve a 20-year sentence for extortion and wire fraud concurrently. His admission was considered as part of the sentencing decision in Alabama, U.S., where Holloway used to live.
