Biden says Gaza hospital blast ‘appears as though it was done by the other team’, not Israel
SUMMARY: President Joe Biden visited Israel and expressed solidarity with the Jewish people after a deadly explosion at a Gaza Strip hospital. Biden told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it appeared the blast was carried out by Hamas militants. The Israel military denied involvement and blamed a misfired rocket from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, who also rejected responsibility. Biden canceled his planned visit to Jordan after the explosion and expressed his sadness and outrage. During his visit to Israel, Biden is expected to push for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza and meet with first responders and families of victims.
