Jaheim McMillan’s mother files $10 billion wrongful death lawsuit against Gulfport
SUMMARY: The mother of 15-year-old Jaheim McMillan, who was shot and killed by a Gulfport police officer, has filed a $10 billion wrongful death lawsuit against the City of Gulfport and the officer. A Grand Jury previously cleared the officer of any wrongdoing. The lawsuit alleges that the city did not properly train and supervise the officer and accuses the officer of excessive force and a cover-up. The lawsuit also calls for the officer's termination and claims that he is a danger to the Black community. Supporters gathered for a rally on the one-year anniversary of Jaheim's death, calling for an independent investigation.
