Mega Millions jackpot is the 8th largest in the US at $820 million
SUMMARY: The $820 million Mega Millions draw on Tuesday night was the eighth-largest U.S. lottery prize. This followed the $1.08 billion prize won a week ago in a Powerball draw in Los Angeles. The huge jackpots are a result of highly unlikely odds, which allows for constant roll-over of the grand prize. A winner had not been declared for the Powerball win, which is the sixth-largest in U.S. history. There have been 27 Mega Millions drawings without a winner, with the game last paying out on April 18.
