Former Shucker Devin Williams relishes second MLB All-Star Game experience

SUMMARY: Devin Williams, who was picked by the Milwaukee Brewers in the second round of the 2013 MLB draft, has for the second time, been named a National League All-Star. He attributes a match in in April 2019 as a turning point in his career. He is now one of the most effective closers in , majorly due to his change-up, known as the -bender. Despite not pitching on the day of the All-Star , Williams spoke to 25 last Wednesday, saying he thought the journey to would be smoother. This season, he has a 1.89 ERA and 20 saves.

USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Force cadets from the of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
