Broken line leads to sewage leak into White Oak Creek

SUMMARY: City of Jackson crews are working to get a sewer situation under control. Reports of a foul stench in Northeast Jackson led to the discovery that the main sewer line near White Oak Creek slid into the creek due to erosion. Work is underway to fix the sewer line with a bypass pump in place to catch sewage and prevent further contamination. A heightened water contact advisory for the creek had been issued in May.

Changes how law enforcement handles mental illness
