Jim Hill High School choir to perform at international competition in Bahamas
Jim Hill High School will be representing Mississippi during spring break as a group of hand-picked students travel to compete in an international choir competition in the Bahamas.
A total of 32 students between the ages of 14 to 18 are planning to sing in front of numerous groups of people during the trip, continuing the group's tradition of showing their musical talent internationally. In prior years, the Jackson-based choir has sung at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as choir competitions in Orlando, Florida.
Pamela Moody, the school's choir director, explained that this year, the students will be performing at several locations throughout the trip, which includes stops in Nassau and other areas in the Bahamas.
“We're taking a cruise, so we're going to sing on the ship a couple of times there. We're competing on the ship as well, but also, I wanted this to be an educational trip for the students,” Moody said on Good Things with Rebecca Turner. “This is…

SUMMARY: Two ATV accidents in Lowndes County, Mississippi resulted in two people being airlifted for care. The first crash occurred on Wright Road in Caledonia, where a mother and three children were ejected from a Can-Am side-by-side. Two children were treated and released, the mother was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle, and a six-year-old was airlifted to Jackson. The second crash happened near Canfield Road, where a 24-year-old was thrown from a side-by-side and flown to Jackson for treatment. A passenger in this accident was not injured. SUMMARY: An inmate in the Lowndes County jail, 52-year-old Eddie Thomas Jr., was found dead in his cell after being in jail for 56 days. Sheriff Eddie Hawkins stated that his staff attempted life-saving measures but Thomas was alone in his cell all night. The death appears to be natural with no signs of trauma, but an autopsy is required. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling the death investigation.
