Biloxi man charged with carjacking, aggravated assault in D’Iberville
A Biloxi man was arrested in D'Iberville this morning, charged with carjacking and aggravated assault stemming from separate incidents that occurred overnight.
Police Chief Shannon Nobles said 48-year-old James Bryant Mills was charged with carjacking and two counts of aggravated assault. He was taken to the Harrison County jail. His bond was set at $150,000. Nobles also noted that Mills was out on bond on an unrelated narcotics charge when he was arrested.

Pearl River women qualify for College National Finals Rodeo
SUMMARY: The Pearl River Community College rodeo team had a successful weekend at Northwest, with the men's team finishing sixth and the women's team finishing second. The women's team also secured the Ozark Region Reserve Champion title, earning them a spot in the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper. Kate Eiland was named the All-Around Champion and tied for first in breakaway roping. Erin McLaughlin, Juliana Jennings, and others also performed well in breakaway roping. Kate Eiland and Bryson Crawford advanced to the championship round in team roping. Overall, the team had a strong showing and is looking forward to the upcoming finals.

USM School of Media and Communication Home to New Roy Howard Community Journalism Center
SUMMARY: The University of Southern Mississippi is launching the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center in fall 2024 to train journalists in providing important, fact-based reporting for under-reported communities in the state and combatting disinformation. PRCC Honors Institute Medallion Ceremony: Celebrating the Next Generation of Leaders
SUMMARY: The Dr. William Lewis Honors Institute at Pearl River Community College in Mississippi held its annual Medallion Ceremony in April.
