‘We don’t want your name… just information’
SUMMARY: Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers was established to encourage witnesses to come forward with information about crimes anonymously. The organization rewards those whose information leads to arrests, although many refuse the money. Tips provided to Crime Stoppers have been crucial in solving cases by providing law enforcement with leads they were unaware of. Former Columbus Police Chief, Pete Bowen, was honored for his years of service with the organization. The Crime Stoppers board meets regularly to review tips, decide on payouts, and discuss other business. Their goal is to provide a way for the community to help law enforcement without fear of retaliation.
