VIDEO: Saltillo Police hosts 7th annual Kids and Cops
SUMMARY: The Saltillo police department in Mississippi held its seventh annual Kids and Cops event to strengthen relationships with the community, especially children. First responders from various areas helped out by distributing school supplies, backpacks, and food to over a thousand people from all over North Mississippi. Kids had the opportunity to meet and interact with police officers and firefighters, even getting a chance to operate police cruiser lights. The event aimed to bridge the gap between youth and law enforcement, while also providing a fun experience for the community. Leftover school supplies will be donated to Saltillo schools, and the police department plans to continue the event next year.
