They secured their spot by defeating South Jones for the South State title. Many Bulldog team members have played together since middle school, which they believe will contribute to their success. The team has strong chemistry and a winning mentality. Van Cleave plays Wednesday and Friday night, with the George County Rebels also competing.

It's the first trip back to Pearl for the Bulldogs since winning it all back in 2018 in the 4A title game.
