Update on FEMA assistance in City of Moss Point
SUMMARY: Since the June tornado, FEMA has provided over 1.5 million dollars in grants to homeowners and renters in Moss Point. Majority of this amount, 1.3 million dollars, was given for housing assistance, while 241,000 dollars were allocated for other needs. More than 600 home inspections have been conducted, and overall, disaster survivor assistance has been provided to 4,800 homes. Although FEMA is gradually leaving the area as it recovers, individuals can still apply for assistance through grants or loans. However, residents are advised to remain cautious of FEMA scams and not disclose their financial information to anyone claiming to be a FEMA worker.
