Tupelo Police looking into two drive-by shootings
SUMMARY: police are asking for any information on the two drive-by shootings that occurred within 24 hours. The first shooting happened at the Fster Lake Apartments and the second at the Haven Acres Community. No one was injured in either incident, but police are investigating the shootings and are asking for any information. The first shooting resulted in a shattered vehicle window and a bullet through an apartment window. The second shooting involved a white SUV firing about seven shots. Police found shell casings but did not locate a suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Tupelo police.

South Pontotoc beats West Lauderdale to move on to the North Half championship series
SUMMARY: The game was a close one as the Cougars faced a must-win situation with a packed crowd at Cougar Field. In the top of the first inning, a double play by the third baseman helped the Cougars get out of a tight spot. In the bottom of the first, Dalton Tutor hit towards third but another double play ended the inning scoreless. The game remained tied until the bottom of the third when Eli Holloway hit a solo home run, giving the Cougars their first lead. The Cougars held on to win 3-2 and advance to the north half championship series.
