Tupelo is moving forward with bridge project
SUMMARY: The city of Tupelo is moving forward with a project to replace a bridge on the west end of the city, causing issues for commuters and businesses. The bridge, closed in August due to structural deficiencies, will have its construction begin in February and is expected to take 9 months to complete. However, the city has added incentives to the contract, aiming to finish in 5 months. The 70-year-old bridge will be completely removed and a new one installed, expected to last at least 70 years.
