Intervest Corporations developers pushing back to build affordable housing in Pascagoula
SUMMARY: Intervest Corporation developers are aiming to expand affordable housing for seniors in Pascagoula by renovating the old science building of the former high school. Despite initial approval from the Planning Commission, the project was not approved by the mayor, who expressed concerns about the location of low-income housing in the downtown area. The developers are seeking an appeal process and hope to bring the project back to the city council for a reconsideration. If approved, they plan to build 23 housing units for elderly residents.
