Surveillance video of murder suspect sparks questions
SUMMARY: Four surveillance videos have been provided to 16 WAPT, allegedly showing that the man charged in the murder of 19-year-old Jaylen Burns, Joshua Brown, was out of town at the time of the shooting. The footage shows Brown's truck at a Krispy Kreme drive-thru in Hattiesburg. Brown is a football player at Jones College, and his brother, who is a football coach at the same college, obtained the surveillance video. There are also three alleged witnesses who claim to have seen Brown in the Hattiesburg area during the time of the shooting. Brown is currently held at the Raymond Detention Center with no bond, and there is a second suspect charged with accessory after the fact. JSU Police Chief Herman Horton acknowledges the information and evidence provided and states that it is being examined. Stan Buckley, a spokesperson for Brown's family, urges investigators to closely analyze the video and interview the alleged witnesses.
A spokesperson for Joshua Brown says surveillance video proves he wasn't in Jackson the night Jaylen Brown was shot and killed.
