St. Andrews wins third state title in four years
SUMMARY: The Braves lost 10-4 after the game was tied 4-4, and Jackson State dropped their opener 9-5 to Texas Southern. A soccer championship was on the line, with the Saint Andrews boys team going for their third state title in four years. They played against Saint Stanislaus, the last school they lost to in the title game. About 20 minutes in, Drew McDonald assisted on both goals, leading the Saints to a 2-0 victory over the Rock-a-Shaws for the state title. Walker Van Meter scored the winning goal off a corner kick from McDonald, who also had an impressive throw-in assist.
