School districts keeping eye on dress codes
SUMMARY: required to wear uniforms. The Madison, Rankin, and Hinds school districts have specified guidelines for dress code policies. Crop tops are prohibited, and all short and long sleeve shirts must cover the stomach. Shorts and skirts must be a certain length, and pants cannot have holes. Pajamas are now prohibited in all three districts. Some schools in Madison County and Jackson Public Schools have a uniform-style dress code. Students at JPS elementary and middle schools must wear white or navy blue tops and khaki or navy blue bottoms. The schools may be able to help students who cannot meet the dress requirements. Additionally, all students in the Hinds County School District are required to wear uniforms.
