Picayune win streak snapped at 27 with 36-35 OT loss vs. Catholic-B.R.

However, they managed to make a comeback in the second quarter with touchdowns from Brady Robertson and Stanford commit Chris Davis, bringing the score to 21-13. In the third quarter, Davis scored another touchdown, tying the game at 21 all. In the fourth, Davis scored again, giving Picayune a 28-21 lead. The game eventually went into overtime and Catholic secured victory with a successful two-point conversion, ending Picayune's 27-game winning streak with a final score of 36-35.

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Hancock vs. South Panola (MHSAA 6A State Championship) [05/14/24]
SUMMARY: The Hancock Hawks faced off against South Panola in a pitcher's duel, with both teams playing strong defense and keeping the game scoreless until the fifth inning. Abigail Carver hit a home run to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead, but South Panola tied the game in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, South Panola took a 2-1 lead and held on to win the game. Both teams will have a chance to redeem themselves in the next game on Thursday.

Hancock Lady Hawks drop game 1 of state championship series 2-1
SUMMARY: High school softball state championships began today at Southern Miss with three teams competing for the title. Hancock High School played against South Penola Lady Tigers in a close game, ultimately losing 2-1. Both teams had strong performances with key plays and runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings.
