Perry Central sees significant rise in graduation rates
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Department of Education's recent state graduation report shows that Perry Central's graduation rate has increased by over 12%, rising from 74% to nearly 87%. The principal, Joshua Yeager, attributes this increase to making school exciting for students by diversifying the curriculum and building relationships with students, which has helped to increase morale and test scores. The school also doubled its dual enrollment opportunities to prepare students for college and the workforce. Yeager emphasizes the importance of consistency and raising expectations for all students, faculty, parents, and the community to achieve these improvements.
