One wounded after family fight leads to shooting in Biloxi; suspect in custody
SUMMARY: There was a family dispute in Biloxi that led to one man, Laalton Cooley, being arrested for aggravated assault. Cooley, who is 25 years old, is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. The incident started with a call about a fight and they were called out to Greater Avenue near the Camellia Street intersection. As officers were headed to the scene, more calls came in about a shooting in the same area. When officers got there, they found an injured man in his 30s and rushed him to the hospital. The victim is listed as stable.
Police arrested 25-year-old LaAlton Darnell Cooley of Gulfport on scene and charged him with aggravated assault.

Volunteers clean up Biloxi Cemetery ahead of guided tours
SUMMARY: Next week, the annual Buuy Cemetery tours will bring local history to life, as volunteers prepare the site by cleaning headstones and raking leaves. Keyler Airman Robert Waltz discovered fascinating facts about the cemetery, including the origins of Barks Murals. K Miller from the Buuy Preservation Committee emphasizes that the tours aim to share the history of Buuy and highlight influential residents, particularly artists. This year’s 18th Annual Tour will focus on the city‘s artistic legacy, engaging younger generations with stories of local figures. Reenactors will portray and honor the artists and crafters buried in the cemetery.
Volunteers at the Old Biloxi Cemetery spent Friday morning raking leaves, bagging them, and cleaning headstones in preparation for guided tours.

Witnesses speak out after argument over tip leads to shooting at Gulfport bar
SUMMARY: Witnesses are sharing their accounts of a shooting at Tang’s Daiquiris and Bar in Gulfport, prompted by a dispute over a tip. Bartender Janix Azaros recounted how a patron refused to give a more generous tip, leading to tension. Security guard Lesean Moody intervened but 35-year-old Clarence Thompson III returned with a rifle, firing 30 rounds. Lori M. witnessed the chaos after her shift, praying for everyone’s safety without knowing her husband was shot six times. Thankfully, his injuries were not life-threatening. Tang’s will hold a benefit for Lesean Moody on November 9th to honor his bravery.
Witnesses are now speaking out after last Saturday night’s shooting at Orangutang’s Daiquiris and Bar in Gulfport.
