Omega Motion closing in Saltillo; will impact approximately 130 employees
SUMMARY: 130 people are about to lose their jobs as the furniture manufacturer Omega motion in Saltillo is shutting down. The company, a subsidiary of Leggett and Pratt Corporation, has been operating for over 27 years. The workers were informed of the closure on Tuesday as part of a restructuring plan. The company's focus will now shift to other products. Y Staffing Group, an industrial staffing company, is offering to help the workers find new jobs. The parent company, Leggett and Pratt, is also providing support and resources to help the employees transition to their next career step.

Southern Miss baseball rallies to defeat Ole Miss

Cicadas, cicadas everywhere: How they are helpful

However, for residents living near wooded areas, the cicadas' loud singing can be a nuisance. Experts say the cicadas will start to clear out in early June. Despite the annoyance, the cicadas serve as a natural phenomenon that offers educational opportunities and a chance to learn more about their life cycle. Gabe Mayor from WTV A9 News reported on the noisy bugs.
The cicadas are screaming, and though it may be annoying, one school says they are a helpful tool.
