Mississippi sees steady turnout at polls for primary

SUMMARY: As of 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, there has been a steady turnout at the polls in Mississippi. However, there have been some issues reported, power outages in Washington County that temporarily rendered two machines unavailable. Some polling places also experienced minor delays in opening. Precincts in County and Leflore County ran out of Republican and Democratic ballots respectively, but have since been replenished. Additionally, there have been reports of campaigning within 150 feet of polling places and old voter identification materials containing the picture of the former Secretary of at certain precincts. Late precinct changes have also occurred in . Any problems observed or reported will be referred to the authorities. Polls close at 7:00 p.m. and any voter in line at that time can still cast a ballot. For any questions or issues, voters can contact the Elections Division.
