Mississippi General Motors employees go on strike

SUMMARY: Employees at the General Motors Parts Distribution Center in Brandon, Mississippi, joined the United Automobile Workers (UAW) strike. The UAW president called for strikes to expand against GM and Stellantis at 38 facilities across more than 20 states. Around 98 employees joined the union to strike in Brandon, with workers protesting nearby. Employees are demanding higher wages to make ends meet, with one worker sharing the difficult he had to make between paying rent and his wife's medication. The employees plan to be outside the distribution center from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day until the strike is resolved.
