Mississippi College names Rice assistant as their new head football coach

SUMMARY: Mississippi College has announced Mike Kershaw as their new head football coach for the 2023 season. Kershaw, who previously coached wide receivers at Rice, is familiar with the state of Mississippi, having previously led Delta State to a Gulf South title and coached at DSU. He replaces John Bland and will be tasked with leading Mississippi College into Division Two football. Kershaw's experience and knowledge of the state make him a strong choice for the position.

The Choctaws have a new head football coach in Mike Kershaw. Kershaw comes in after five seasons as an assistant coach from Rice. He knows Mississippi College as a rival. He was Delta State's quarterback in 1998 win they won the Gulf South title. Now he returns to Mississippi to lead the Choctaws.

Crestwood received a $5,000 grant to beautify their campus and create permanent artwork. West Lauderdale High School also held a similar event, their second annual Market, to showcase student talent and creativity.
