MHP hosting job fair this Saturday

SUMMARY: Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) is conducting a job fair at the Troop K substation on Highway 67 this Saturday. Interested participants must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver license and be a resident of Mississippi. Both experienced and inexperienced candidates may apply. According to MHP spokesperson, Cal Robertson, the force is hoping to recruit committed officers to uphold safety on Mississippi roads. He added that MHP provides a positive working environment with the first training expected to start in January 2024.

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
