SUMMARY: The Buxy Skate Fest is set to take place this Saturday in Buxy, Mississippi, and is expected to be the most monumental skate event on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to date. Nature Conservancy in Mississippi constructing Tony Trapani Oyster Reef
SUMMARY: A 35-acre oyster reef is being built in Bay St Louis as a recreational fishing spot and oyster landing ground. Agencies are working to repopulate oysters by creating places for them to attach and mature, with mounds of limestone being constructed vertically to serve this purpose. Tom Morman is spearheading the project, with the goal of oysters growing, reproducing, and drifting to commercial reefs downstream. The project is set to be completed in the next two to three weeks and is located just outside of Bay St Louis, south of the Wolf River.
